For stumps over 40 inches, we may switch to an hourly rate. We will always give you a cost cap before starting.
What Can Change the Price?
Wood Type
Hardwoods (Oak, Maple) take longer and wear the machine harder than softwoods (Pine, Cottonwood). May add 15–30%.
Sprawling Roots
Surface roots from species like Spruce or Elm require extra grinding time to eliminate tripping hazards.
Tall Stumps
Stumps over 12" tall must be chainsaw-cut lower before grinding. A small cutting fee may apply.
Site Access
If we need to remove a fence panel, gate, or navigate tight spaces, extra labor is factored in.
Mulch Removal
Haul-away is included in our price. Keep the mulch? We'll discount your total.
Multiple Stump Discount
2 or more stumps? We discount every stump after the first (provided no special access is required). We're already on-site, you shouldn't pay full price twice.

Common Pricing Questions
No. We work Monday through Saturday at our standard rates. If you have a true emergency (like a storm-damaged stump blocking a driveway), call us — we'll fit you in.
Yes. We grind the main stump 8 to 12 inches below the surrounding grade. This allows you to fill the hole with topsoil and plant grass directly over it.
We inspect the area thoroughly and call 811 before grinding. If we hit an unmarked buried object, we stop immediately and discuss options. You are not charged for machine damage from hidden obstacles.
We do not charge a travel fee for jobs within our standard service area. For properties outside of that zone, we discuss a small fuel surcharge during the quote.
